When nature meets luxury, all tours and fishing charters are done on the fishing vessel Cold Smoke, a brand new 31ft Northriver with twin 300 Yamaha outboards. The back deck is nearly 10 feet wide and spacious enough for the whole party to comfortably fish and view wildlife and scenery alike. We have an overhang to stay out of the rain and a heated cabin to warm up, we also have a bathroom on board. For your convenience, we have a door in the railing so you can walk right on and don’t have to worry about crawling over the rails. We invite all ages aboard! We are equipped with life jackets for all sizes as well as first aid kits.

Even though we have a heated cabin, Petersburg is in the Tongass National Forest which is a rain forest. Be prepared for rain, even though its summer our weather can be unpredictable at times.

We provide complementary coffee, tea, water, pop, and small snacks. Feel free to bring any personal food or beverages on board. Yes, you can bring beer, it’s your vacation and you’ll want to celebrate your catch!

Keep your eyes peeled because there is wildlife everywhere! On our trips we are often see a variety of birds including bald eagles, sea lions, seals, porpoises, sea otters, and whales. Bears, mountain goats, and Sitka black-tailed deer are also common sight.

Depending on what time of year we will catch: King, Sockeye, Coho, Chum, and Pink Salmon. There also might be opportunity to catch, Black cod, Rockfish, Black bass, and Lingcod.

All fishing clients 16 or older will need to purchase a sport fishing license and a king salmon stamp. Make sure you bring your photo ID if you are under 16 and look questionable in age.

You can also purchase one at the hardware store or hotels in town- just make sure you have them ready for your trip.

We do not process or vacuum pack your fish, but we have 2 local processers that will! Both outfits will process, freeze, and box up your fish for pick up at the end of your trip or they can ship across the country!
